I tried to install the Adafruit charlcd library on my Joy-Pi.

sudo pip3 install adafruit-circuitpython-charlcd

It starts installing, but after a while I get a syntaxerror:

Command "python setup.py egg_info" failed with error code 1 in /tmp/pip-build-jq7b7n9u/sysv-ipc/

We just tested your command with the newest version of our JoyPi image. We could not find any problems though.

Maybe you are using an older version and the problems are caused by that.
